Which fastener is for me???
Terminology - Cap / Socket / Post / Stud (In second picture)

Cap - The Cap goes through the canvas and fixes to a Socket which can then be attached to a stud

Socket - The socket attaches to a Cap and can then be attached to a stud....Or you can attach to a gypsy stud to a socket and then you can attach that socket to a stud and have a piece of canvas attach to the gypsy stud also

Post - To be used with the studs to create a fixing point on a piece of canvas

Stud - These can be attached to the deck via screws , rivets etc.... Or you can attach to a Post so you can have a piece of canvas attach to a piece of canvas

So basically the following working from the deck

Deck - stud - socket - canvas - cap (To attached canvas to deck)

Post - canvas - stud - socket - canvas - cap (To attach canvas to canvas)

Deck - stud - socket - canvas - gypsy stud - socket - canvas - cap (To attach two pieces of canvas overlapping to deck)

SNAD fastener

Surface Preparation Instructions and Application Guidelines: Snap components will adhere to most clean, dry and well-unified surfaces. Typical surface cleaning solvents are a 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol) water mixture. Let air dry or wipe dry with a soft lint-free cloth before applying fastener. Remove liner from back of disk. Position snap and roll into place. Press down on the snap working all the way around the snap and in the center to secure to substrate.

Application Pressure: Bond strength is dependent upon the amount of adhesive-to-surface contact developed. Firm application pressure develops a better adhesive contact and thus improves bond strength.

Application Temperature: Ideal tape application temperature range is 70ºF to 100ºF (21ºC to 38ºC).

Dwell Time: After application, the bond strength increases and approaches the ultimate bond strength after 72 hours at 70ºF (21ºC). Typical bond strength build-up: 20 minutes equals 50% bond strength, one hour equals 75% bond strength, one day equals 90% bond strength, and three days equals 100% bond strength.

Place your canvas over the wooden base and line up the cutting tool where you require a hole to be cut. Strike the tool with a hammer and it will pierce through the canvas
Then get a cap and socket next. Place blue disc on the wooden base and put a cap inside the disc. Then lay your canvas over the cap so the cap so the cylindrical part of the cap is through the canvas. Take the socket and place the flat side off the socket down on top of the cap. This is were you now need to strike the cylindrical part of the cap using the closing die and hammer so rivets against the inside of the socket.
