"How shall the two-dimensional print in black and white suggest the flux of activity of the metropolis, the interaction of human beings and solid architectural constructions, all impinging upon each other in time?"--Berenice Abbott, from an introduction to "Outline for Photographing New York City," quoted in Bonnie Yochelson,"A Fantastic Passion for New York"

Good plus. Light wear to the edges. Corners bumped. Discoloration to the board edges. Spine backstrip is loose and has detached from one side. The other side is holding but split. Fading to the blue cloth on the spine. Internally, in amazing shape. Gorgeous, bright and clean photographs. The best I have seen to date. No foxing, marks or tanning. All pages intact.

Scarce first edition.
