1.Lexmark offers for sale two different versions of the same cartridge: * The regular version (#4 #5#23, #24, #28, #29, #36 #37  #41, #42) is not refillable. It is the "Return Program" or "Prebate" cartridge.

* The "A" version (#4A #5A #23A, #24A, #28A, #29A,#36A #37A  #41A, #42A) can easily be refilled. However, the price of the cartridge is roughly $5 higher than the regular version, so most people unknowingly buy the regular version. If you want to refill, you will need "A" version cartridges.".

2. If you use genuine cartridge(OEM) ,due to the chip can not be reset,the ink level will always low. But it will not effect the printer. If the printer do not let you printing. You need Reset the ink count by pressing the paper feed button(or Stop/Cancel button) and hold the button for 5 seconds to reset. The ink cartridge will work again.
