An excellent quality solid brass Victorian Doctors brass door knocker, this reproduction is based on an antique original so has all the correct sizes and proportions. The style is often referred to as the Doctor's as it was a common piece of period front door furniture on the Doctor's house. We refer to is as Victorian but it was also a popular style in the Edwardian period, 1920's and 1930's. This example is manufactured using a rich warm coloured solid brass and is unlacquered so it will tarnish and antique down, easily polished with a Brass type product.
