THIS LOT IS A COLLECTION  OF POSTAGE STAMPS FROM THE UNITED STATES SPANNING THE 1890's THROUGH THE 2000's,  940 DIFFERENT. 

This collection contains postage stamps from U.S.A, 940 DIFFERENT, mostly used, and is a comprehensive introduction to all phases of US philately.  The collection is strong through the 1980s, although there are stamps from later years. Kindly keep in mind that there were many fewer stamps issued through the 1980s than presently exist, therefore, the value of this collection is greater than a collection of equal size but including stamps readily available today. Also, this is not a commercial 'packet', but rather a collection from our stock built over a 50-year period, hence, once sold, it cannot be duplicated. The stamps shown in the photo are from the actual collection --  if any information is desired we invite your inquiry.

This collection spans three centuries of USA history (1800s, 1900s, and, 2000s), is prepared for the collector of USA stamps, and all of the stamps are listed in the Scott U.S. Specialized catalog.  These stamps contain varieties (all Scott listed) created as a result of varying printing and production methods. As a result, some similar appearing stamps are included, but they are different major catalog numbers due to perforation change, the use of different watermarked paper, or, manner of production -- sheet, coil, or, booklet. It contains practically all of the different uses of stamps -- commemoratives, definitives, airmail, special delivery, postage due, certified, and, a small representation of revenues, officials, Christmas seals, cut squares, propriety, and, documentary. For some of the recent stamps, new production methods include die-cutting instead of perforations, and, adhesives (both soluble and non-soluble) instead of the use of gum.  

The overall quality and value of the collection is very high, including dollar values and above -- it has been screened for the removal of damaged stamps and they are clean of paper remnants. This collection is ready for immediate use  and placement into your albums. However, we do ask for your understanding in one regard. There is a tremendous amount of time and effort required to assemble this type of comprehensive collection, and a damaged or a heavily cancelled stamp will on occasion  be missed, or, the count could be high or low by a few  stamps -- this is all possible when dealing in such large numbers of stamps. Although unlikely, this could happen, and would not change the overall value to warrant returning the unit. Collections are not returnable as it would not be possible to guarantee high quality without going through the entire collection once again. Collections similar to this have been delighting collectors around the world for many years.
