Photographer: Robert Doisneau (French, 1912 - 1994) - world renowned photographic artist who along with Henri Cartier-Bresson was considered a major pioneer of photojournalism. Doisneau was best known for his street photography of everyday people and eccentrics in and about Paris streets and cafes. Children at play (unsupervised by adults) were also a favorite subject for Doisneau who was influenced by the work of both Eugene Atget and Andre Kertesz. Today Doisneau's work is held in important collections throughout the world.
