Overviews:

True 4-Axis Jockey Technology, the Holy Grail of cinematic video stabilization, has arrived. This patent pending 4-axis technology stabilizes the vertical axis, a critical deficiency of traditional 3-axis gimbals in addressing bouncy videos.  In addition to implementing this revolutionary vertical stabilizer for Ronin and Ronin-M gimbals, Turbo Ace engineers have also provided a whole new way to film at eye level in both following and leading a scene.

A Quantum Leap in Gimbal Stabilization

Recent advances in 3-axis gimbals have been effective in tilt, roll and pan stabilization, but fall far short in addressing the natural bouncy gait of a bipedal operator on the go. The Jockey’s proprietary 4th axis technology with Adjustable Coil Tension and Dual Hydraulic Suspension put an end to undulating videos. Say goodbye to “would or could have been” footage compromised by bouncy footage that requires tedious hit-and-miss post editing and software stabilization.

Many gimbal setups on the market consist of heavy equipment, leading to long exhausting sessions. With Jockey’s True 4-Axis Stabilization and Compact Jockey Support Rig System, operators are free from restraining heel to toe "gimbal" walks with bulky shoulder rigs or heavy robotic arms. They can now easily keep up with walking or running subjects for long durations. For cinematic shots or camera adjustments, insert the gimbal into the Jockey Support Rig and transfer all excess payload to your hips. At any moment, draw the gimbal from the holster for increased mobility and creative freedom - a truly revolutionary way to film.

Jockey 4TH Axis Stabilizer

If you already own a DJI Ronin, or DJI Ronin-M, you can choose this package to upgrade your 3-axis gimbal to 4-axis. Simply replace the original horizontal 3-axis handlebars with the Jockey 4th-Axis Stabilizer easily identified by its signature "V" handlebars.

Optimizing Jockey Stabilization & Support Rig

Filming with the Jockey outside the holster offers the best vertical stabilization, especially when you are walking or running. Insert the Jockey in the Support Rig's holster for stationary panning and pivoting shots or to take a break and make camera adjustments. If you choose to walk and film with the Jockey inside the belt holster, we recommend that you revert back to a heel-to-toe gimbal walk as if you are using a steadicam.

Transition from operating in and out of the holster provides many ways to optimize Jockey functions. By lowering or raising the cone-shaped-collar under the Jockey you can decrease or increase Jockey's range of movement inside the holster. A higher cone-shaped-collar position would allow you to freely lift the Jockey out of the holster from any angle and a lower position would allow it to lock on to the holster.

Ergonomic Adjustable Dual Jointed "V" Handlebars & Build-in Balancing Stand

The evolution of Jockey’s signature "V" handlebars is based on function and clean line aesthetics. This patent pending design enables cameraman to frame shots from different heights and distances to the body while maintaining an ergonomic handle position. Another key advantage is the implementation of convenient toolless adjustment while minimizing weight and maintaining proper orientation for both underslung and inverted-upright modes to accommodating special Ronin and AllSteady joystick mounts. Ten months and six versions later, a double-opposing-jointed "V" design finally emerged and prevailed. Nevertheless, Jockey engineers did not stop there. Determined to further optimize functional design, we added a very short third leg to compliment 2 downward pointing handles which doubles for a Built-in Gimbal Stand, a way to balance your gimbal on the move.
