This Holy Rosary can be worn as a necklace, as men and women belonging to religious orders often do. However, the rosary is a religious item and not a fashion accessory. It is a good way for Christians to be able to pray any time, at any place, throughout the day.The rosary, upon being blessed by a Catholic priest, becomes a powerful sacramental, a way to obtain blessings and protection. It is recommended that you have your rosary beads blessed by a priest after purchasing them. Rosaries are good evangelistic tools, as they are visible signs of an individual's devotion and love for God and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a good, constant reminder to the wearer and to those he encounters of Jesus' life and passion, as depicted in the holy mysteries.
About the Rosary: The word Rosary means "Crown of Roses". Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one.
The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow and the glory of Jesus and Mary. It's a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary. It's a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary we invite Her to pray for us.
Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore it becomes ever more useful, because what Mary asks She always receives, Jesus can never say no to whatever His Mother asks for. In every apparition, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace.
With your prayer made together with Your heavenly Mother, you can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion.
How To Pray The Rosary - The purpose of the Rosary is to help keep in memory certain principal events or mysteries in the history of our salvation, and to thank and praise God for them. There are twenty mysteries reflected upon in the Rosary, and these are divided into the five JOYFUL MYSTERIES, the five LUMINOUS MYSTERIES, the five SORROWFUL MYSTERIES, and the five GLORIOUS MYSTERIES. 1. Make the Sign of the Cross and In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 2. say the "Apostles' Creed." I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into Hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; He shall come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
2. On the first bead Say the "Our Father." "Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen."
3. On the next 3 beads Say three times "Hail Mary". These three prayers should be done with the intention of an increase in Faith, Hope, and Love. "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen."
4. On the 5th Bead Say the "Glory be to the Father." "Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen."
5. Announce the First Mystery; then say the "Our Father." The traditional order is to meditate on the Joyful Mysteries on Monday, the Sorrowful on Tuesday, the Glorious on Wednesday, the same pattern for Thursday to Saturday, and then Glorious again on Sunday.
6. On next ten beads group Say ten "Hail Marys," while meditating on the Mystery.
7. Say the "Glory be to the Father."
8. Announce the Second Mystery; then say the "Our Father."
Repeat 6 and 7 and continue with Third, Fourth and Fifth Mysteries in the same manner.
