Description:Giant 1/3 Scale Grumman American Lynx Plans, Template, Instructions


You are bidding on a new set of plans for a Giant 1/3 Scale Grumman American Lynx. It includes the plans and templates/patterns for cutting the parts for this beauty. Building instructions are also included as are a large 3-view drawing.  Other plans are for sale too. I'll be listing them as I pull them out. This plan is in perfect condition. All of my items come from a totally smoke free environment.  


Originally designed in 1962 by Jim Bede as the BD-1 and intended to be sold as a kit-built aircraft. Bede decided to certify the design and offer it as a completed aircraft. No BD-1 kits were ever sold. The prototype first flew on July 11, 1963 and featured folding wings for trailering and ease of storage. Bede formed a company, Bede Aviation Corporation, based in Cleveland, Ohio, to produce the aircraft, but the BD-1 never entered production as a certified aircraft. At that time the FAA was hesitant to certify a light aircraft with folding wings. The certification process was complex and expensive and disagreements arose between Bede and the other shareholders. As a result Bede was ousted by his business partners and the company renamed American Aviation.

Grumman bought American in 1971 and sold the design as the Grumman American AA-1B Trainer for school use starting in 1973. The variant designed for the personal-use market was called the Lynx and it featured a standard radio and trim package.

If you are not happy with your item please return in the original packaging and with all tags attached within 14 days. Goods must be returned carriage paid. Refund of purchase price will be refunded by the same method as the payment was made. Postage and packaging will not be refunded.

If your item is faulty or we have sent you something different to what you ordered, again please return it to us within 14 days and we will give you a full refund or replacement. Including postage and packaging.
