This is a case of 20 LED tubes designed to replace fluorescent 8 foot tube lights with some rewiring of your fixtures. These bulbs fit into fluorescent light fixtures with the FA8 single pin ends. First you will need to disconnect the ballast/starter. Next one end requires 110-277 volt AC power and the other end must to be connected to neutral for the light to turn on.

The LED's are configured for maximum light output and the highest efficiency so the internal power supply is not dimmable and the cover over the LED's is clear. Each 8 foot long tube uses 40 watts of power and produces about 3800LM which is equivalent to a 80 watt florescent. The color temperature is 6500K so it is bluish color normally referred to as daylight white. The light is a popular choice because it is not like the yellow color of warm white.

LED VS Fluorescent

LED's have become a popular investment because of the immediate savings in electricity but LED's offer more advantages:

There is no delay or flicker at start up, LED's provide full brightness immediately.

Fluorescent bulb manufactures are beginning to publicize the fact that in order to reach the bulb's life expectancy, you must turn the bulbs on for a minimum of 3 hours or you will see a shortened service life. LED's do not suffer this pitfall. You will not shorten the life expectancy of LED's by turning them on and off many times during the day.

LED's are not effected by cool temperatures, LED's provide full brightness even at below freezing temperatures. LED's do not have a "warm up" period.

LED's do not contain Mercury so there are no disposal fees at the end of the bulb's life. In fact you may be able to receive money for recycling LED's. In many areas, scrap metal yards will pay you when you drop off LED bulbs for recycling because of the valuable aluminum heat sink along the entire length of the bulb.
