FAQ

How long do these take to cut out? Is it difficult?

A 20 pc set takes me around 15 to 20 minutes and a 30 pc set takes me around 20 to 25 minutes. You get quicker as you go along.

Rice paper butterflies are really easy to cut out, the rice paper is just like thin firm paper. I suggest clean, dry, sharp scissors and be sure to trim into the black edge just a tiny bit rather than outside it to ensure no white rice paper border is left. This helps with the illusion of them being real.

How long do they last?

Use within three months of receiving them. When stored in their sealed bag away from moisture and sunlight they should be fine longer. I keep mine stored away flat between the pages of a heavy book to help maintain that crisp flat look until use. I suggest cutting them out well before your event as it can be a bit tedious to do last minute under pressure.

How do I attach them to my cake?

IT IS EASY!! Just before your event, gently fold your butterfly’s wings up at the body and place a dot of fresh icing underneath and place it on the cake. You may need to hold it there for half a second so it sticks but it will instantly transform your cake or cupcakes into a magical display. I like to arrange them in a cascade of butterflies down the side of my cakes but I’ve never really seen a bad arrangement so anything goes really. Cupcakes look great with a variety of sizes on them so half sets are available too if you wanted to mix in a few different sizes. My butterflies are easy to rearrange also before the icing has set so you have a little time to play around.

Do you offer express post? Combined postage? Pick up?
Definitely! Just select express post at payment and I will have them in the mail using an express post envelope for next day delivery. I combine postage where possible and local pick up is Keysborough 3173, Victoria.

How long do these take to be posted out?

I have most listed items ready waiting for your sale and will post same day as payment received so generally they will go out straight away.
