Iron Application

Don’t have a heat press? Don’t worry, you can use a household iron to apply your crystal transfer. Yes, using a heat press is easier and faster, but it is possible to achieve a quality crystal press with a household iron if you do it correctly! 

• Iron over your garment first to remove any moisture. Place your garment onto a hard surface, I use a wooden chopping board (which works perfectly.) It’s very important you use a hard surface. 
• Remove the white backing from your transfer. 
• Place the motif onto your garment, checking carefully all your crystals are in their correct position and haven't slipped out of place. Then cover with a thin material, for example a thin t towel or hankie. 
• With your iron (NO STEAM) This is very important. You must use a dry iron! Our crystals are activated within a temperature range of 120°C to 170°C (250°F to 340°F). Apply hot heat for around 20 seconds, being sure all stones have been pressed with equal amounts of heat and time. Do not use strokes when applying the heat, you must mirror a heat press, being sure to press down with your iron. If you use strokes with your iron this may cause the crystals to slip or move from their position. Check the design to see how it is going throughout. It’s also good to be aware of holes at the bottom of your iron. Be sure to cover all areas of the design. Remember you don’t want the glue to just adhere to the top layer of the garment, you want to melt that glue down into the under fibres of the garment.
• Allow the plastic and crystals to cool before you start peeling the carrier sheet away. When peeling , peel slowly to ensure the crystals have stuck to the garment. If you have a crystal that hasn't adhered then repeat the process. 
• Once the plastic is fully removed I like to turn the garment inside out, (On reverse side of the transfer,) And press with the iron once more. This last 5 seconds of heat is not essential just something I do when i’m unable to use the heat press.
                                                        

Wash And Care Instructions

• To keep your crystals looking their best & sparkling for years to come, please follow these simple guidelines. 
• Allow the adhesive to cure after application for at least 24 hours before washing. 
• Turn your garment inside out, Hand wash or machine washable up to 30°C. 
• DO NOT USE BLEACH as this can damage the glue. 
• DRYING-Lay flat or hang to dry. You can tumble dry on a delicate low heat with caution. The heat and tumbling action of a high dryer can damage the glue and rhinestones.
