The TempCue is a revolutionary new basal body temperature (BBT) thermometer that connects directly to the OvaGraph Fertility Charting App through your smartphone. With TempCue, you can easily take your basal temperature upon waking, and the data will be saved, charted, and interpreted automatically according to the Fertility Awareness Method by OvaGraph - the official app of Toni Weschler's bestselling book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
Monitoring your basal body temperature is a tried and true method that has been used by women for decades to help identify when ovulation has occurred. By measuring your BBT daily - and other key fertility indicators - OvaGraph's proprietary algorithm will be able to detect the telltale signs that reveal your fertility status at any given point in your cycle.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Charting your basal body temperature (BBT), also called your waking temperature, is one of the most time-tested ways to track your fertility status and confirm when, and if, you are ovulating. By taking and charting your BBT throughout your menstrual cycle, you will be able to detect the natural rise in your temperature that occurs after ovulation, allowing you to pinpoint the days in your cycle that you are fertile - a key to achieving pregnancy naturally! If you are consistent about taking and charting your BBT daily, once ovulation occurs, you will see a temperature rise (it's important to note this rise is quite subtle) after ovulation and throughout the rest of your menstrual cycle. Typically, the shift occurs about 24 hours after ovulation and the temperature rise is around .4º F, however, this can vary from woman to woman.
For decades, women have been charting their BBT with a pencil and a piece of graph paper, and eye-balling the temperature shifts. Using a set of advanced algorithms, TempCue and OvaGraph will automatically interpret your BBT data, and will display a possible ovulation date and a cover line once a temp shift occurs. BBT charting with TempCue is so easy it's almost fun!
BBT charting detects the natural rise in your temperature that takes place once ovulation has occurred and your body has become progesterone dominant. The temperature rise occurs after ovulation has occurred so it can't predict your ovulation day in that same cycle.
Additional data can be helpful to get a more timely and complete picture of what is going on with a cycle. The Fairhaven Health saliva sensor and cervical mucus sensor can be added on to the TempCue Basal Thermometer Kit to provide additional data. These sensors measure electrolyte resistance in your saliva and cervical fluid which correlates to the changes in your hormones, specifically estrogen and progesterone. Using the trends in your hormones, ovulation can be predicted up to 7 days in advance. Like the TempCue sensor, the oral and vaginal sensors also sync automatically with OvaGraph, the official fertility charting app of Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
