This is an American or Canadian ladle made c. 1800. I have found several pieces on line, either late 18th c. or early 19th c. I cannot find any mention of Guey in the US nor Canada but at least three pieces (out of 5) have turned up in Canada. So my presumption, for stylistic reasons having looked at all the pieces, is that he is an unlisted Canadian maker 1790-1810 probably not from a major city like Montreal or Quebec Ville. The price is obviously high, but we will give a 30% discount to anyone who can supply proof of where Guey worked.
8.5” long.
Weighs 69 grams or 2.2 troy ounces.
