Cork 0-11 : Meath 0-09

Match in full as originally broadcast on RTE TV
The two counties that have dominated football since the decline of Kerry’s great team meet for the third time in four All-Irelands. Cork have the double motivation of revenge for the ’88 and ’87 finals, which they lost to Meath, and prospect of winning both hurling and football titles in the one year, a feat the county achieved for the only time exactly 100 years ago. Seán Boylan’s team, shocked by Dublin the previous year, are after a double of their own, having already won the NFL title.
