Rare English translation/combination/abridgment of Madrolle's scarce pair of French guidebooks.

The copy of the theologian James Bissett Pratt, longtime professor at Williams College, who travelled in Indochina in 1931-32. 

Notable fraying at bottom of spine and bottom edge of rear cover; otherwise average external wear, some staining and fading, a bit of fraying at top of spine. Pages yellowed. Occasional notes in pencil and pen; some creases and edge-chips; scattered blemishes. Binding cracked in several places, very weak, a couple of signatures coming loose; effort at tape repair at the hinge in one place. Four maps in place in back pocket, one with a notable edge-tear. Fair to Good.
