ORIGINAL 'MAP OF THE TOWN OF DANVERS MASSACHUSETTS.  HENRY MCINTYRE 1852'

This is really a great piece.  Out of all the maps I have seen and purchased, I have seen only one other example and that one ended up in an institution that had been looking for this map.  From the research I have done, there are only a handful examples of this map known to exist and they are in major libraries and collections.  I have searched the market and and have found none others for sale.  It is a particularly scarce map.  Henry McIntyre was a mapmaker in the first half of the 19th century.  Very little is known about him except that he made maps of Boston, Danvers, Lynn, Marblehead, and perhaps a couple others.  Of those towns, very few are known of each one.  This is a wonderful example of the important historic North Shore of Boston town.  This map shows the towns topography, railroads, land owners, and much more information.  There are 7 vignettes of buildings throughout the town.  The map measures 34 x 27 inches and is in very good condition. Some minor water staining along right margin.  Some minor and scattered losses along the top margin and a few within but nothing too bad.  Still mostly attached to the original wood rails.  All in all a good example as it is or with some minor restoration it would be a nearly perfect example.  Do your own research on this map.  Not going to get a chance to buy this too often.  Priced to sell with plenty of room for restoration if you are interested.  If you collect important early American wall maps, check my store for all the others I am offering.  A great opportunity to build your collection.
