The ASUS BW-16D1X-U is a powerful Blu-ray disc drive that capable of writing to 16X BD-R format. With USB 3.0, it assures the fastest burning speed, and along with BDXL upport that allows the maximum data storage 128 GB in one disc. The professional data backup software, Nero BackItUp, Power Backup, provides the most robust backup solution.
The BW-16D1X-U is bundled with BD Media Suite, which includes CyberLink Power2Go 8 and CyberLink PowerBackup 2.5. CyberLink Power2Go provides a quick method of ripping, burning and copying files via a choice of advanced and express modes. Power2Go supports Blu-ray Disc burning and DVD-R double-layer (DVD-RDL) recording. Blu-ray Disc support allows the burning of 25 GB on a single-sided disc. Meanwhile DVD-R support lets users store up to 8.5 GB of data by burning high quality video, TV recordings, data, music, and photos onto double-layer DVD discs.With BDXL support, you can now back up your files with fewer discs than ever before, and since the drive is portable and USB bus powered, all of this can be done virtually anywhere.
The BW-16D1X-U can write up to 16x on BD-R and 12x on BD-R dual-layer (DL) media. One BD-R DL disc can hold the same amount of data as 10 DVDs (single-layer). The drive can write up to 6x on BD-R triple-layer (TL) and quad-layer (QL) media. One QL disc can hold the same amount of data as 27 DVDs (single-layer). The drive is also backward compatible to read and write to most DVD and CD recordable media.
