Up for sale is a unique antique Asian carving of a Geisha on what appears to be a very old slate roof shingle with the original mortar on the top. The carving is well done but clearly by an amateur hand and appears to me to be a type of folk art. The slate measures 9 x 3.25 inches while the engraving is about 6.5 inches tall. This is a very interesting and unique piece, I have never seen anything quite like it. I am not sure of its provenance as it was acquired at an estate auction.
