FRENCH INDOCHINA "THEATRE-MADE" M1 CARBINE POUCHES

For sale is a pair of REPRODUCTION pouches based on a pattern worn by colonial units of the French Far East Expeditionary Corps (CEFEO) during the war in Indochina. This particular type of pouch was made at a local level by Vietnamese tailors using whatever materials were to hand. This was a  necessity due to the shortage of webbing and equipment suffered by French garrison forces who were often posted in remote areas far from any supply depots.

Exhaustively researched from an article in issue 193 of the French history magazine 'Armes et Militaria' (page 44). Made from authentic materials, including:

1) heavyweight, hard-wearing, dark tan coloured cotton fabric sourced from South Korea.

2) 100% natural tan coloured cotton thread.

3) Authentic reproductions of original french zinc 'Equipements Militaires' buttons.

Each pouch is intended to carry two standard 15rd magazines for the US M1 Carbine. Will fit comfortably over all main types of issue belts worn during the Indochina War:

(US M1936 Pistol Belt, British 37 Pattern Belt, French TAP Mle 50 Belt, French Mle 46 Leather Belt).

Material has been given a hot wash to pre-shrink it and give it an authentic appearance.

Included in the sale are TWO pouches. By selecting '1' in the quantity box you will receive two pouches. If you select '2' you will receive four pouches.

Magazines shown in the pictures are not included.
