This is an original German Program from the First Release of this film in Germany.  This incredible Italian Neorealism film was first released in 1954 (1956 in the United States).  

The movie is amazing.  Giulietta Masina is perfect as the innocent, dim-witted young lady who gets "sold" (in so many words) by her mother to a street performer (Zampano - played exquisitely by Anthony Quinn).  The movie follows them as they try to earn a buck by performing the simplest acts to poor, war-stricken Italians from town to town.  Richard Basehart plays "the Fool" and antagonizes the brute Zampano throughout the movie, while trying to comfort the innocent Gelsomina.
