HOBBY MASTER 1/72 HA5901 Shenyang J-5 (MIG-17F) "Yen The" NORTH VIETNAM

First flown in early 1950, the MiG-17 looked very similar to its MiG-15 predecessor. The high subsonic fighter was developed to intercept enemy bombers. Though it was not yet ready for combat in Korea, it did see extensive service in Vietnam where it took down 28 American and South Vietnamese warplanes. It was flown by numerous Asian and African militaries with limited usage continuing today. More than 10,000 were manufactured.

Featuring authentic markings from the North Vietnamese's 923rd Fighter Squadron (nicknamed "Yen The Squadron" after a rural district in the northeastern part of the country), this Hobby Master collectible is a newly tooled, 1/72 scale, die cast replica of a MiG-17F equipped with engraved panel lines, a realistic air intake, an opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (with instrumentation and a removable pilot figure), optional-position landing gear, and a display stand.
