They consists of two small cymbals. They are used by Buddhists during offerings, prayer and meditation. The cymbals are joined together by a strap and produce a clear, high pitched ringing tone when struck together.
Apart from their ancient traditional use as a meditation and ritual music aid, tingshas are being used in sound therapy for the “space clearing” of rooms.
Sometimes it may be necessary to remove the straps from the tinghsas to send them as large letter size parcels. Please simply tie them back with a knot.
Drawstring bags and Lokta boxes need to be purchased with a tingsha if you would like to buy one. Sorry that they cannot be bought separately.
These products are traditionally made (please don't expect factory perfection) and natural variations / irregularities in size, colour and pattern is therefore possible. Length of cords do vary.
