Old Book with 4 Pages Of Original Art Drawings By Remick Neeson dated 1905 Listed Artist. The book is the 1903 edition of La Mere de la Marquise by Edmond About; apparently is was an old school book of Neeson's. Remick Neeson used the end papers to practice portraits and as you can see there are quite a few small drawings or people's faces, etc. It is signed and dated 1905 by the artist. I found this years ago in a large lot of books from a Plymouth MA. estate. I guarantee the art is genuine ink drawings by Remick Neeson. Davenport's Art Reference lists his art at prices of $400-$800 estimates and he is best known for etchings and engravings. My 12 photos will give you a detailed appraisal.

Remick Neeson  (early 20th century)

Remick Neeson was active/lived in Massachusetts.  Remick Neeson is known for printmaking-etching and aquatint.

Remick Neeson, a 20th century Plymouth, MA artist, was active from 1933 to 1943. When Franklin Delano Roosevelt established the Works Progress Administration in 1935 as part of his new Deal program, artists went to work creating art for public viewing and education. Neeson was one of the WPA artists who specialized in printmaking. WPA rules required artists to work in central workshops under a timetable. This workshop system helped artists develop new graphic arts techniques.

Two of Neeson's works are in the Smithsonian American Art Museum: The Crabnet, 1937, etching and aquatint on paper; and Excavation, 1936, etching.
