DISMANTLATION Up on sale featuring same day / 1 Business day shipping is my Antique (set of) two Hand Carved Bone Story Tiles, Carved Signed And Dated 1916 by Artist KRESZL ASZLO ANTIPICHA. Both carvings have a beautiful luster and are buttery cream in color showing great detail when held to a light you can see they are partially transparent. They are approximately 4"L x 1.25" H x varying depths from 1/16" to 1/4" deep. These tiles were typically carved to create an image and record of what daily life was like as each tile told a "story" about specific daily laborious duties.  Originally thought to be Inuit carvings, a bone carving dealer stated that they believe the tiles are Hungarian or perhaps Czechoslovakian, based upon the clothing and story the tiles depict.  Each tile is intricately carved with great detail.  Some areas are carved in three Dimension. The horse's rein and a part of the horse cart is carved 360° degrees , revealing suspended features of connected bone. These two story tiles would make an impressive addition to your bone carving collection. These bone carving story tiles depict a time when hard labor accompanied people's survival abilities and how they passed the time recording such events in their artful carving skills.
