Fresh off the bench for 2018!

Just got these Steampunk leather hanging bags done. These were a lot of fun to make as they have lot's of rivets involved in them. I also got to learn a new style of how to dye my leather. It's called block dying with a boarder fade. The finished look is nice as it gives the finished item a antique look. These hanging bags are a matched set of a pocket watch holder, and the other bag can either be used to carry a small frame phone, MP3 player, or use it to carry money. It has enough room that you could put change, cash, and even your keys in this bag. The bags are designed to hang from your belt by attaching the brass clip's that are attached to the bag, to a metal ring that hangs from a loop that is slid onto the wearers belt. Also there are Steampunk complete corsets that have corresponding metal rings riveted into place to carry these bags. ( see example photo just for reference)  Both of these hanging cases are made from 5-6oz veg-tanned cow hide leather that has been completely hand made from start to finish. After cutting the leather pieces out they are marked for holes that need to be punched. Then all holes are punched, and the leather is dyed using a water based leather dye. In this case I "block" dyed them using two different colors of dye. I used saddle tan for the main color, then I used bison brown for the outer edge. By block dying the leather you can apply as little or as much as you desire to come up with the finish of your choice. Then after all the dye has dried I hand riveted the swing latch onto the leather, afterwards I riveted the front and back pieces of leather together using the textured antique brass rivets. I then added the two back loops with the brass spring clasps. It's a nice looking two piece set of Steampunk gear that will make a great addition to right person's collection. The pocket watch case measures approximately; 4 1/8" (W) x 4 1/2" (H) not counting the hanging loops. The hanging loops are an additional 2 5/8" from top of main body to top of brass spring clip. The phone/stash case is approximately; 4 1/4"(W) x 5 1/2"(H) and again the hanging loop with brass spring clip is 2 1/2". As these are kind of a generic Steampunk theme set of leather hanging cases you could use them for almost anything, and their use is only limited by the owners imagination. These are custom 100% genuine 5-6oz heavy veg-tanned leather and hand made from start to finish, and will last their owner for a very long time. The accessories are designed to be rugged and will hold up to years of continued use. Should the latch or any of the other hardware ever fail just return the item to me for free repair.
