Product Description
Biochemical filters allow the natural
development of bacteria to grow within the sponge membrane, providing a more
natural purification of aquarium water.
These bio sponges are suitable for both
marine and freshwater tanks, with or without natural plants.
They are extremely good value as they
may be used continuously. Some users rinse the filter through once a month to
remove bulky matter. The 2 layer is a cotton type based bio-filter material, perfect to filter out finer debris, absorbing ammonia and phosphates. There is also an option for a bio bag, which is made of an exterior biological mesh and shredded bio filter material.
Suggested use
We would recommend using the various types in layers, the 2 layer then, superfine, fine and another layer of mesh sponge with the dense as the final layer. These may be inserted
into a either an existing filter container or at the point in your tank that
water is sucked through (usually the water vent at the rear of a tank, prior
to the pump).
This will provide the added benefit of
protecting the pump from debris.
