A rare and incredibly beautiful pair of mid 18th century candlesticks.  The bases are circular with sunken in wells which are surrounded by an elegant gallery of gadroon decoration  for lowlights.  The stems are of tapering form and are stylishly sandwiched between ornate acanthus leaf moulds.  The capital has additional upper and lower bands of gadrooning and a central wire for highlights.  There is a stylish contemporary crest for importance.
