This auction is for the transfer of 1 x 50ft reel of 8mm film. For multiple reels simply increase the quantity to match the number of reels you have.
A 50ft reel is the most common type of cine film reel and measures 3" in diameter. You may have larger reels consisting of multiple smaller reels joined together.
200ft (5" diameter) a full 200ft reel contains 4 x 50ft reels
400ft (7" diameter) a full 400ft reel contains 8 x 50ft reels
Sometimes the larger reels are not completely full. In that case you may be able to check the amount of film on the reel using the measurements printed on the side of the reel.
If in doubt please send me a question with details of your film reels and I'll let you know the final price.
Your original films will be returned to you by signed delivery at no extra cost.
The Transfer Process
Our priority is to take great care when handling your films.
The transfer is done using a frame-by-frame high definition scanner that captures the entire area of each frame. It is a completely sprocket free system meaning your films are treated gently throughout the scanning process.
The resulting scans can then be made available to you as either a DVD (playable in any DVD or Blu-ray player) or digital files that you can view on a PC, Tablet or your phone.
Typically scans are completed within 1 day of receipt of films.

Step by Step
1) Complete the auction, indicating the number of 50ft film reels you want to transfer by choosing the appropriate quantity
2) I will confirm everything with you along with address to send the films
3) Post your films using a 'signed for' delivery service
4) You will be notified when the films have safely arrived
5) You will receive updates throughout the transfer process
6) Your converted films will be made available by post (if DVD) or by download (if digital file). Optionally the digital files can be sent on a disc or a USB flash drive.
7) The films will be returned to you using a 'signed for' delivery service
