If you electric Motor is Struggling to Start or Humming it may well be the start capacitor 

Please note an Electric motor Start Capacitor is 250v and a Run Capacitor is 400v.
There are usually 2 Capacitors fitted on an electric motor 1 is a start and 1 is a run, 

If only 1 Capacitor is fitted its more than likely a 400v Run Capacitor that acts as a start and a run Capacitor.
