If you are not getting full throttle, or your throttle doesn't close reliably, or it has dead spots or spikes the chances are it is due to the potentiometer being worn out. Cleaning the pot may provide a temporary fix but the only way to cure the problem is to replace the potentiometer with a new one.

This listing is for the potentiometer with the lead already connected to it so you can just plug it in. (Please make sure you plug it in the right way round it is possible to plug in upside down). The fly lead is the correct length for the accelerator it is not long enough for the clutch pedal.
