SUPER SHARP and BUILT LIKE a TANK - CLASSIC CANON WIDE ANGLE LENS from TIMES WHEN LENSES WERE BUILT from STEEL, BRASS and ALUMINIUM. VIA ADAPTERS, WONDERFUL LENS for DSLRs, MICRO 4/3, SONY NEX, FUJI X-SERIES, NIKON 1 SYSTEM and OTHER MIRRORLESS CAMERAS.

When used with DSLRs, Sony NEX, Fuji X-Series, Nikon 1 System and other 1.5x crop factor Mirrorless cameras, this becomes a 42mm 'short standard' lens. On Panasonic and Olympus Micro 4/3 system and other 2x crop factor Mirrorless cameras - a superb 56mm equivalent, ideal for portrait or landscape photography. Adapter will be needed - please search eBay for Canon FD adapter for your specific camera.

Canon FD 2.8/28mm wide-angle lens in wonderful condition. When originally introduced, it was a newly designed high performance lens to complement Canon’s flagship cameras of the time - the FTb, F-1, AE-1, AE-1P, A-1 and T-90. The lens used new type of optical glass with seven-element / seven-group construction. It achieves high contrast, sharp resolving power, optimum color balance and because of its high performance it was considered a benchmark for the next series of FD and EOS wide-angle lenses.

This is Canon's late 'New FD' bayonet mount version, more convenient to use than the earlier FD or FL breech lock mount (both mounts are fully compatible with all FD and FL mount cameras). Will fit all manual focusing Canon bodies - including, but not limited to Pellix, FT, FTb, FTbn, TL, AE-1, AE-1 Program, AL-1, AV-1, A-1, T-70, T-90, F-1. Please note that this lens will NOT fit Canon EOS and DSLR bodies without an adapter.

Many digital photographers are discovering the special optical qualities of these classic legacy lenses and are adapting them to the latest DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras. The lens is in wonderful condition with practically no signs of use. Focusing action is smooth and fluid; there is no oil on the aperture blades, no haze, fungus or scratches on the optics. Automatic aperture mechanism operates correctly; diaphragm blades are clean and snappy. Focusing mount has no dents or dings; filter mount has no dents and accepts filters effortlessly. Includes Tamron 52mm Skylight 1A protection filter and genuine Canon front lens Cap.
