****Welcome to our listing, thanks very much for looking!

A live performance by this legendary vibraphone artist, captured by Keith Johnson on his first vacuum-tube analogue three-channel recorder, New Year's Eve 1957. Easily one of the most natural-sounding presentations of a live jazz performance ever! Music notes and personal tribute by Leonard Feather. "The Forward Look" is really a look backward that will interest three types of listeners: jazz history buffs, audiophiles, and fans of light jazz. CD contains 6 extra tracks.

REFERENCE RECORDINGS is a well known audiophile label. "Professor Keith O. Johnson" has been associated with many cutting edge recording techniques not only on the software side of the business, but in the hardware side as well - the highly known and respected "Spectral" brand name comes to mind immediately.

Their music software  (both CD and LP) competes with the likes of other grand audiophile labels such as; MFSL, Sheffield Lab, Wilson Audio, Opus 3, Mark Levinson, Proprius, etc.

Many of the company's issues have been associated with sonic spectaculars, more specifically, with The Absolute Sound (TAS) magazine, or as it's known in audiophile circles "HP's Super Disc List" (Harry Pearson).
