Original full period vellum, smooth back with by hand old sepia ink lettering.
Very good clean fresh solid copy with strong joints, light wear to edges, bumped corners. Mostly faint diminishing margin only fore-edge damp stain for the first 87 sheets. Old proper repair to fore-edge margin only of 3 sheets, otherwise sheets unusually fresh & clean, unmarked, complete books x-xvii. WorldCat locates only two copies worldwide of the Jansson, 1652 edition.
