High Quality Robust Log Bed ~ Amish Made in Montana

These rustic log platform storage beds are hand crafted of solid pine by the Amish in NW Montana and are a heavy, robust bed frame. The six drawers are very robust and on full extension ball bearing glides, making these beds the perfect choice for those rooms where you need to conserve space. The beds are very heavy duty and will last for several generations.

There is some assembly required to assemble them. Headboard and end cap is fully assembled. The drawers are in two sections with three drawers per section... Easy to follow instructions are included to show how to put the bed together.  The drawer sections are heavy, so you might want to have help on hand to get it put together, once you are ready to do so. Mattress is not included.

We choose to work with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed. Then each log is hand peeled, using the skip-peel method where some of the inner bark is left on the logs, creating a beautiful rustic piece of furniture for your home, lodge or cabin.

  There is often some checking in the logs which is a natural occurrence with lodge pole pine, but it does not affect the strength and durability of the bed. It actually adds character to them. Beds are assembled using the mortise and tenon joinery.
