These Steampunk themed respirator masks are made from 100% genuine 5-7oz vegetable tanned(veg-tanned) cow hide leather and other leather products, that have been dyed various colors using dyes designed for use on leather. The leather respirator masks have all been hand made from start to finish including the hand sewn seams which were sewn with different colored waxed thread designed for hand sewing leather products. Some parts of the mask assembly were completed using various colored metal rivets, as well as matching colored metal buckles to adjust the leather straps. All of these listed steampunk respirator masks are meant to be adult unisex sized and one size should fit most average size adult heads. In addition some of the masks have other materials which were used in the construction of the mask. Please see the detailed descriptions of each mask as well as detailed photo's. Remember these steampunk respirator masks are completely made from heavy duty leather and were completely assembled by hand. All these listed steampunk themed leather respirator masks are designed for costume use only and in no manner should be worn or used to protect the wearer from dust or fumes. All of the listed masks also feature air venting holes of one fashion or another. The standard vent holes are designed to be adequate for most wearers, however if more ventilation is needed the wearer can simply either adjust the size of the stock vent holes, or add additional as needed. If adjustment or additional venting holes are needed, this is not a defect in the mask nor will it affect the use of said mask.  

Mask #1: This steampunk respirator mask is dyed royal blue in color with an oil based leather dye. The color will last for the life of the mask under normal conditions of use. All major seams were stitched together with black waxed thread using a two needle saddle stitch which will ensure strength and durability of all the seams. The strap retainers as well as the buckles are riveted in place using textured antique nickel metal rivets. There are 3 heavy metal antique nickel roller buckles which are used to adjust the fit of the mask. If the wearer has a head smaller then what the adjustment currently allows for the wearer can just add additional holes in the straps to accommodate the needed fit. This leather respirator mask also features two abs stubs which protrude one on each cheek of the respirator. They are painted black and are for decoration only and server no other purpose. Once the upper head strap is adjusted to fit the wearer it should not need any further adjustments, however the lower strap that goes around the neck will need to be adjusted each time the mask is worn. 

Mask #2: This steampunk themed respirator mask was dyed a English bridle color using a water based leather stain. I applied several coats of the stain to ensure a good penetration and even color. The color of the leather should last for the duration of its intended use. As in mask #1 all seams were stitched together with colored waxed thread and using a two needle saddle stitch for strength and durability of all seams. All other attachment points and buckles were attached using antique copper metal rivets. The straps are attached with nickel strap /+96

rings on each side of the mask. I used two antique copper roller buckles on the upper head straps as well as a third antique copper roller buckle on the lower neck strap. This steampunk respirator mask also features two decorative copper breathing caps that are retained with a leather plate sewn into the cheek of the mask. This mask is a great accessory one can add to round out their steampunk costume. Besides everyone living in a steampunk era needs to have a personal respirator. Don't need to wear it all the time? Simply thread the neck strap through the wearers belt and attach with the buckle and its a built in carry strap. These are not made from cheap PU leather, but made from 5-7oz genuine veg-tanned cow hide leather. They will last a very long time under normal to extreme use so fear not and have confidence in your steampunk respirator mask. Just remember that they are for costume use only and will not in any way protect the wearer from dust or harmful fumes or germs. 

Mask #3: This steampunk themed mask is much the same as mask #2 with the only a couple of differences. Its dyed slate grey with an water based leather stain. The other thing that is different is that It is sewn together with a heavy duty black thread using a two needle saddle stitch for strength and durability of all seams. Otherwise its pretty much the same as mask #2. It has three  antique nickel roller buckles and matching antique nickel hand hammerd metal rivets to attach the straps and buckles. You will get years of use from this mask and be able to wear it to many Cosplay gatherings or perhaps to that masquerade parties. Just remember that they are for costume use only and will not in any way protect the wearer from dust or harmful fumes or germs. 

Mask #4: This leather steampunk themed respirator mask is different to the proceeding ones as it uses an entirely different method of construction and finishing accessories. The mask is made from two main cheek pieces of leather with a center leather tape seam that is stitched on each side of the tape joining the two cheek pieces together. I dyed the leather dark brown and the stitched seams are done with a black waxed thread. Also the mask features 18 1/4" nickel metal eyelets, 9 on each cheek side. The eyelets have been hand crimped onto the leather. This mask also is worn using an upper head strap with two attachment points and then a lower neck strap also with attachment points on both ends. Instead of metal roller buckles this mask uses nickel plated Sam Brown buttons one each strap end for a total of 4 buttons total. Also all strap attachment points are assembled using nickel silver rivets. As with the preceding respirator masks once you get the upper strap adjusted to the wearer the only strap that will need constant adjustments is the lower neck strap for taking off the mask and putting it back on. The upper strap simply slides off the head with the rest of the mask. This style of steampunk mask does not have upper air vent holes ad they should not be needed as the 19 eyelets that are located on the cheek portions of the mask should easily provide plenty of ventilation. 

Mask #5: This steampunk themed leather respirator mask is made exactly the same as mask #4 except that it was dyed black. Everything else is the same from the 1/4" nickel eyelets to the rivets and Sam Brown buttons. 

Mask #6 This Deluxe Steampunk themed mask features include the following, dyed using saddle tan dye, hand stitched with tan heavy weight waxed thread, metal brass colored rivets and buckles, copper metal accents with black corrugated tubes with leather hold downs. Based off of the same design as mask 1-3, however with a much more intricate look. This steampunk respirator style mask will greatly was painstakingly hand made from start to finish. The mask being made from real genuine 4-6 oz leather is intended to last the owner much longer than any PU manufactured mask.  The mask is for costume use only and should not be used to filter dust, toxic fumes, and or germss for any reason. Add this leather steampunk themed respirator mask as an accessory piece to you existing costume and you have a total geared out costume that everyone will notice at your next Cosplay party. Since they are all made from real heavy weight leather and not paper thin leather with some type of filler added to make them look thicker, they will stand up to many hours, no not hours but years of use. Just give them an occasional hand rubbing of your favorite leather conditioner to keep the leather soft and supple.
