  • The set includes three different 7 line cars: The Bluebird, the Redbird and the current 7 line car!
  • The R33WF Bluebirds were purchased for the 1964 New York World's Fiar and only used on the Flushing Line. The bluebirds were blue intil the mid-1970's when they were painted white in an early deterrent to graffiti. Bluebirds were painted red to become Redbirds in the mid 1980's. Only four restored R33WF's exist: three are with the NY Transit Museum with two in their original painted scheme and one as a Redbird; and one is in the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine.
  • Redbirds are named for the deep red color they were painted. The deep red colored paint was chosen to combat Graffiti. The final trip made by a Redbird train was on November 3, 2003 on the Flushing Line. Rebirds now have either been sunk off the coast of Delware, Georgia, New Jerseym South Carolina, and Virgina as artifical reefs to promotion marine life and some still operate in the system repurposed as garbage trains or rider cars for work trains.
  • The 7 Flushing Local and Flushing Expressare two rapid transit services in the A Division of the New York City Subway, providing local and express services along the full length of the IRT Flushing Line. Their route emblems, or "bullets", are colored purple, since they serve the Flushing Line. The Flushing Line runs adjacent to Citi Field and the former location of Shea Stadium and is the line made famous by the 7 Line Army!

  • Officially licensed by the MTA

The New York City Subway is a rapid transit system owned by the City of New York and leased to the New York City Transit Authority, a subsidiary agency of the state-run Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). Opened in 1904, the New York City Subway is one of the world's oldest public transit systems, one of the world's most used metro systems, and the metro system with the most stations. It offers service 24 hours per day on every day of the year, though some routes may operate only part-time. The New York City Subway is the largest rapid transit system in the world by number of stations, with 472 stations in operation (424 if stations connected by transfers are counted as single stations). Stations are located throughout the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. The Staten Island Railway is not officially considered part of the subway, as it lacks a rail link with the subway system, so passengers traveling between Staten Island and another borough must take the Staten Island Ferry or an MTA bus; free transfers are allowed to the subway and bus systems. The PATH in Manhattan and New Jersey and the AirTrain JFK in Queens both accept the subway's MetroCard but are not operated by the MTA and do not allow free transfers. However, the Roosevelt Island Tramway does allow free transfers to the MTA and bus systems, even though it is also not operated by the MTA.
