THE MEDAL FOR 15 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE ARMED FORCES

These Medals were established on January 25, 1958 and were awarded until 1991.

The reverse of the medal has the Russian words For 20 years of Irreproachable Service in three lines in the centre, with a small star below the words and at the 6 o'clock position are the Cyrillic letters for USSR (CCCP).
Around the outside edge of the reverse from the 8 o'clock round to the 4 o'clock position is the Russian words Armed Forces
The 15 years of service medal is made of silver-plated brass and the star with the hammer and sickle in the centre of the obverse is gold plated.
