18k Tiffany hunting cased 5 minute repeater

48 mm diameter ~ weighs in complete at 3.75 ounces on my postal scale ~ stem wind with a proud button set ~ in good running order & kept close time for me over a 17 hour period so far ~ stiff gold bow with chain guard ~ plain polish all over the case ~ front cover springs open to just past a sharp 90 degree angle ~ clear glass crystal over a nice signed Tiffany ~ New York enamel dial with both roman hour markers & arabic 5 minute markers ~ deep blued steel moon hands ~ beautiful nickel damaskeened movement jeweled through the hammers with gold jewel cups over the center wheel & the repeating mainspring ~ gold wheel train ~ even the repeat rundown train is gold ~ gold caps over the pallet & escape wheel jewels ~ gold timing screws on the split bi metallic balance wheel ~ wolf's teeth winding wheels ~ my consignor suggested it was made by le coultre but i have seen no factory markings other than signed Tiffany on the movement ~ hall marked inside the rear cover Tiffany & co ~ makers ~ K18 ~ circa 1900 or so i would say as it is still a nice thick watch ~ slide activated the watch strikes out the hours first on 1 gong ~ then 1 strike for each completed 5 minute segment passed ~ watch strikes loud & true ~ a truly wonderful high grade antique piece of mechanical art for the enthusiast to enjoy! please ask questions and resolve issues before you place your bid reserve? no reserve here! so if you like it you better place your bid now before it gets away! thanks for checking out my listing and if you are into watches please check out my other auctions & you might want to keep a half-an-eye on my upcoming listings as i am liquidating a long time watchmaker's estate-whilst i continue to span the globe for unique and exotic items to bring to your door!
