This is a Magnificent Tiffany Dinner Service in Mint Condition. It has been in our family for close to 75 years and as dealers we are offering this publicly for sale for the first time. This set was purchased by my family directly from Tiffany. It is made by Minton, for Tiffany, in England. The pattern is called Somerset. It is a set for 12. It consists of 16 Dinner Plates, 12 Appetizer and 12 Dessert Plates, 18 Bread and Butter Plates, 12 Soup Bowls, and 12 Demitasse Cups and 12 Saucers. The sizes are as follows, Dinner Plates 10 and Five Eighths inches wide, Bread and Butter 6.25 inches wide, Appetizer and Dessert 8 inches wide, Soup Bowls 8 inches wide, and Demitasse and Saucers standard. The set is Circa Mid 20th century. It has fluted green edges with a gold and white center. THIS REPRESENTS AN EXCELLENT INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY AS THE SET WOULD RETAIL FAR IN EXCESS OF THIS PRICE IF ONE COULD ASSEMBLE THE NECESSARY PIECES.
This set is marked by Tiffany on the majority of the plates and comes with the original New York Tiffany felt dividers for the plates, etc. Please look at photographs. This set was retailed by Tiffany's in the 1940's and 1950's. Minton discontinued this pattern in 1970, making it even more desirable. People who search for this pattern can only find a very limited selection. It is an extremely desirable and rare set.
