Offered here is a really cool pair of Horsehead bookends with a wood base. They measure approximately 9 1/4" tall x 3" wide x 5 " long. Appears to be a cast/sculpted head made of some sort of metal. The metal is a really dark gray or black, so unsure if it is brass bronze or some other type. Similar item on eBay says bronze however it's darker metal than that .  Both are unmarked so unsure of the maker. There are a couple very tiny nicks in the back on the wood part,very minor though.

This pair would look great in any library room and shows a presence of strength and endurance.
