This beautiful estate item is a diamond studded art deco ladies wristwatch which once belonged to a schoolteacher. It is 18K gold and platinum, has a 17 jewel movement and has an inscription on the back which reads "LOVING APPRECIATION SEPT. 1928 FRIENDS AT P.S. 142". The school was in Brooklyn, New York.  There are 2 oval diamonds, 32 round diamonds and  4 sapphires in this beautiful wristwatch from the past.  The black suede strap which is not the original was added about 1970 and it is marked SERENA.  The measurement is 8 inches from tip to tip including the strap, and the watch is still running.. The blue cloth box in which the wristwatch rests may be the original in which the watch was presented ,and it is marked KELLY & KILMARTIN 15 Maiden Lane New York. This item is not only a beautiful example of art deco design but it recalls a  time when schoolteachers were greatly loved and respected.
