ANTIQUE GEORGIAN PLUM PUDDING MAHOGANY TILT TOP TABLE C1780

Antique Georgian Mahogany Tilt Top Tripod Table and dating from around George III period c.1780. Constructed from quality solid mahogany it has a circular mahogany top with original tilt catch in good working order and standing on a gun barrel turned column on three shaped legs with pad foot. The exceptional mahogany top appears to be from one single piece, or is exceptionally well joined, with an exceptional colour, not quite, but almost plum pudding mahogany, but with an extremely attractive grain.

In very good original condition with a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.

We tend to specialize in these lovely tables, amongst many other items of course, so if this one does not suit you, for any reason, we are very likely to have an alternative which will be to your requirements, be it size, shape, design, age or material. A most imposing piece of furniture. Please study the photographs carefully which convey a thousand words and constitute an important part of the description. This item has developed an incredible and beautiful warm patina over the years. We can find no significant wear or damage to this item, which is unusual for such an item. There is a very little wear as would be expected of this age of item. We generally leave items as they are, as many buyers prefer them that way. This item comes straight out of the vicarage, where it has resided for a very many years
