Blackpool Tram DVD 77 - Winter 2014/15

Autumn 2014: News from the Blackpool tramway from autumn 2014 including the first journey by Balloon car 701 following the completion of its repaint into Routemaster livery. See the tram run to Fleetwood and then work Illumination tours. Coronation 304 was also used on Illumination tours and worked a private hire in early November, running to Fleetwood and Starr Gate. Plus, 717 and the Illuminated trams on tour duty. (37 minutes)

Year End: The entire Blackpool tram fleet which ran in passenger service in 2014 including all 16 Flexitys, 20 Heritage cars, Balloon 700 and snowplough fitted 723. (20 minutes)

Preservation: A very brief preservation section looks at Brush car 621, newly acquired by Beamish Museum. (3 minutes)

Nostalgia: At the end of 2004, 25 trams from the main operating fleet were controversially 'mothballed'. Many of these trams ran for the last time during the October half term week and now ten years later, we look back at their final days. Trams featured include 621, 625, 634, 636, 676+686 and 708.
