I found these thrifting a year ago and did as much research as I could. This was the first ever limited edition Chuck Taylor that Converse ever did. It was to commemorate the USA Olympic Basketball Team at the 1948 London Olympics. It was the first time that there was an African American Basketball Player on the Olympic Team, Don Barksdale from UCLA. The color way and image on the side of the shoe are from the 1948 Converse Basketball Yearbook.

In 1947 Converse created the High-Top Chuck Taylor for the Olympic Team to wear at the 1948 London Olympics. So these were also to commemorate the first ever High Top Chuck Taylor. I believe these released back in 1999 or 2000.

The materials are extra nice on this pair of Chucks. Red canvas with, premium white leather accents. The color scheme was taken from the Converse Basketball Year Book from that year. The heel tabs are the old school ones that Converse use to use back in the 40’s. The image on the side of the shoe is of Chuck Taylor wearing #8, going up for a rebound. Absolutely brand New Condition. Never been laced. Perfect to add to your Chuck Taylor Collection.

The shoes came with a little card that explained a little about the rarity of the shoe. I DO NOT have the card for this pair, as I found them thrifting, but I included a pic that I found online that describes the shoes in greater detail (last pic). They are one the rarest and most hard to find shoes, EVER!!!! EVER EVER EVER! This pair is #47 of 75. Extremly RARE!!!! More RARE than most sneakers nowadays (Jordan’s, SB’s, Yeezys)!!!These are completely DS too, never even laced up!!! The only other pair that I was able to find were in The California Sneaker Museum in Beverly Hills, which is where I got most of my info. These are a must have any Chuck Taylor collector! You will never find a DS Pair ever again, especially in a great Sz 10!!
