Iron Application 

Don’t have a heat press? Don’t worry, you can use a household iron to apply your heat transfer. Yes, using a heat press is easier and faster, but it is possible to achieve a quality press with a household iron if you do it correctly! 

• Start by having your workspace set up for ironing. You will want to avoid any surfaces that will suck up the heat from your iron and take the heat away from your garment. For this reason, we do not recommend pressing on a soft ironing board or granite countertops. We recommend a wooden chopping board for example.
• Plug your iron in and put it on the cotton setting with the steam turned off, (this is very important.)  Next, position your design on your chosen area to be pressed, with the clear plastic carrier sheet on top so the design reads correctly. I then recommend you cover the transfer with a piece of thin cotton fabric, for example a thin tea towel. I find that this helps to protect my surface and keeps my vinyl from overheating or warping.
• Now your ready- Instead of applying your vinyl by ironing like would you iron a shirt, you want to mirror a heat press. This means you should be pressing and holding on the area, for about 15-20 seconds before moving to the next area. Apply equal pressure to all parts of the design. Check the design to see how it is going throughout. It’s also good to be aware of holes at the bottom of your iron. Be sure to cover all areas of the design. Keep in mind, when using a heat press, there are several pounds of pressure, so when applying vinyl with an iron, pressure is needed, you don’t want the glue to just adhere to the top layer of the garment, you want to melt that glue down into the under fibers of the garment.

• When you you have given equal heat pressure and time to each part of the design, let cool for 5 seconds and slowly peel away the carrier sheet. If the vinyl starts to come up with the carrier sheet, then you need to replace the carrier sheet and your thin cover sheet and give it some more heat and pressure.
• After removing the plastic carrier sheet, I like to turn my project inside out and apply another 5 seconds of heat to the reverse of the design, to ensure a really good application.  TOP TIP - With non glitter transfer vinyl, you can see that you have a good application when you can see the weave of the fabric through the vinyl.
• Allow the adhesive to cure after application for at least 24 hours before washing. 

Washing

Do not use bleach or other aggressive chemical agents. 

Wait at least 24 hours from application before washing. 

Washing resistance up to 80°C, best inside-out.

Suitable for dry cleaning, tumble dry, cotton cycle.

Suitable for ironing inside out.
