WOW what a neat decorator item this is!!!  Since we purchased this some time ago, we have had a difficult time deciding whether or not we wanted to part with it.  This was found at a well to do estate on Maine's Moosehead Lake.
Unsure when this was manufactured, but by the appearance of it we would date it between 1930-1950.
This is a key wind, 7 day chart recording thermometer.  Manufactured by the Draper Manufacturing Co. of New York, NY.
Larger than the newer made recorders, this requires 11" diameter charts with a temperature range of -20 to +110 degrees.  This devise is for recording air temperature.  The only chart we have for this is the one that was found in it.
When fully wound (key included) this will run for approximately 9 days and 18 hours and keeps accurate time.  The temperature recorder, although very close to the actual temperature, should be calibrated.

The ink pen is present on this recording thermometer.   It is simply the small v-shaped metal trough on the end of the indicating arm. With an eye dropper, you place a small drop of liquid ink in the trough as needed. The pen's action is similar to that of a classic split-tip writing quill or fountain pen

There are no extra charts.  These can be found by doing a web search.
As shown, the front plate is cast metal, the sides and bottom are copper with perforations and the back has a perforated plate as well.  These perforations are to allow air flow for an accurate temperature reading.  The hinged door is copper with a glass face.  This door can be padlocked if so desired.
Measures 20 1/8" tall x 13 3/4" wide x 4 3/4" front to back.

Sorry, no combined shipping with this item.  This will be shipped FedEx and we will need your telephone number and email address when scheduling a pick up.
