Baker, A. Z. (Alfred Zantzinger).
Original Comic
Art Featuring a Mad Hare and A Rooster.
ill. A. Z. Baker (B. Baker).
Good
Circa 1910.
Ink and watercolor on board featuring an angry looking hare with an umbrella
and a rooster in a pond. The board is age-toned and chipped at edges, water
stain on backside of board. Most likely drawn after Baker's return to the US
after a few years spent in France based on the address written on the back of
the drawing. At the time Baker was a frequent contributor to French
publications such as Rire, Bon Vivant and Pele-Mele, so this may not have been
published domestically. Image Dimensions: 9.25 x 13.25.
