3300 Thermal Barrier catalog (1976)

Out-of-print, hard-to-find 8 1/2" x 11" paper catalog, 4 pages (2 sheets) from W.R. Grace & Co., Construction Products Division, Cambridge, Mass. Dated 1975 but issued with a publication from 1976.

Asbestos ReferenceS:

"Zonolite 3300 Thermal Barrier is a cementitious fire protection coating specifically formulated for application over foam plastics." It could be spray applied to wall and ceiling insulations to form a monolithic barrier against heat and fire. "Its effectiveness is the result of a formulation consisting of a blend of vermiculite, portland cement and other proprietary ingredients......"

Vermiculite that was mined from Libby, Montana is a mineral known to have been contaminated with asbestos. Tremolite often occurs near vermiculite deposits as it is essentially formed by the same geologic processes. The fibrous form of tremolite is among the most deadly of all asbestos fibers.
