Charles Alexander Burnett (1769-1849) was a prominent southern Silversmith, working in Fredericksburg and Alexandria, Virginia, as well as Georgetown, DC. Burnett had many important Patrons, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Clay. This tea pot has great proportions and very substantial weight (over 37 Troy ounces).
